How This Checker Works

For a completed Master's degree or equivalent qualification, the basic percentage threshold used by the checker is 55% for General and General-EWS candidates and 50% for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and Third gender candidates.

Candidates who are pursuing or have appeared in the final examination of their Master's degree may apply provisionally. They must complete the qualifying examination with the required percentage within the period prescribed in the applicable official bulletin.

For the four-year Bachelor's degree route, the June 2025 bulletin specified 75% marks or an equivalent grade, with a 5% relaxation for specified categories. A candidate qualifying through a four-year Bachelor's degree may be eligible for JRF and PhD admission, but is not eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor through that qualification route.

The checker does not automatically decide every special case, including foreign-equivalent qualifications, subject equivalence, detailed age relaxations for research experience, LLM qualification, armed-forces service, prior exemptions, SET/SLET rules, or university-specific recruitment rules.
